Principal’s Message
“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” – Sydney J. Harris
India boasts the third-largest higher education system in the world, yet its Gross Enrolment Ratio remains at just 19%. Among the most underserved are women, particularly those from rural areas and marginalized communities. Despite significant efforts by national and state governments to bridge this gap, rural women continue to face challenges in accessing higher education, a powerful tool for building an inclusive society. Recognizing this need, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has established several graduate and postgraduate colleges, including our esteemed institution, Km. Mayawati Government Girls P.G. College, Badalpur.
Ranked among the top 10 colleges in India Today’s lowest fee category and holding the highest NAAC grade with a CGPA of B++ (2.91) among U.P. Government colleges, our college has emerged as a beacon of quality education. As the only government college in Uttar Pradesh offering B. Voc courses, we have successfully enrolled and nurtured over 120 Ph.D. scholars, including 40+ JRF/SRF awardees.
Our journey began in 1997 with just 28 students and 4 teachers. Today, we proudly serve over 2,000 students, supported by 60 full-time faculty members, 5 dedicated staff, and a vibrant community of visiting faculty and research scholars. With 20 departments spanning Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, and Vocational Studies, our college is committed to providing holistic education to empower rural women.
We offer state-of-the-art facilities, including smart classrooms, a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, well-equipped laboratories, a video conferencing room, a multi-purpose hall, and sports infrastructure. Recent additions like a formal mentoring process, MIS, green audit, and daycare services exemplify our commitment to continuous improvement. Upcoming projects include library automation, a student union room, an indoor games enclosure, and more.
Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s vision—“We want education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet”—we tirelessly strive to fulfill this mission.
As Principal, I am honored to be part of this incredible institution. I welcome our new batch of students to the KMGGPG College family and urge them to aim high, excel, and uphold the legacy of being part of one of the top government colleges in Uttar Pradesh.
With best wishes,
Prof. Anita Rani Rathore
