PRINCIPAL’s  MESSAGE…….

India has the third largest higher education system in the world, but its Gross Enrolment Ratio is just 19%. The deprived sections of the society are mostly women, especially if they come from rural areas and/or backward castes, even both. The national and state governments have been making concerted efforts to bridge the gap, but despite considerable relative improvement, rural women have lagged behind in having access to higher education, even when it has been recognised as a great equaliser towards building an inclusive society. This has been precisely the mission of the U.P. government, in setting up graduate and postgraduate colleges throughout the State, our College being one of them.

The vision of KMGGPG College family, is aptly summed up by Swami Vivekanand’s quote- “ We want the education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.” It is with the above aim that we have persisted tirelessly in our endeavour to provide quality higher education to girl students of the adjoining rural areas of Badalpur. From a humble start in 1997 with 28 students and 4 teachers, we have grown today to a large family of over 2000 students, 50 full time dedicated teachers, 5 non-teaching staff, besides regular visiting faculty, research scholars besides a study center under IGNOU, providing for degree/post graduate programs with 20 departments, under the five faculties of Arts, Science, commerce, B. Ed and B. Voc. The facilities provided are well lit, airy classrooms, smart classes, Wi-Fi campus, well equipped labs, video conferencing room, a multi-purpose hall, sports ground, badminton court, gym, common room, first aid room etc.

Among the new facilities/features for students, added in the year 2018-19 were, the introduction of a formal mentoring process, MIS, green audit and a day care, while those of library automation, student union room, glamour room and indoor games enclosure are under way.

I find it exciting and satisfying to be a part of the KMGGPG College community. As Principal, I view my role as that of a facilitator and a catalyst, to provoke and draw the best out of the inherent and latent potential of all those who are a part of our esteemed College. I take this opportunity to welcome the new batch of students, congratulate them on becoming an integral part of one of the best Government colleges of UP, and call upon them to take it to still greater heights.
